Vision & Values

Vision Statement

There is a real need for leadership on creative teams. Not just organizational / business leadership, but real authentic leadership. I am developing into a leader with strong project management skills for a creative team that works to create and merchandise a product or service. Not necessarily the artist or visionary, but the person who orchestrates a hundred different artists to create one sophisticated final product. I’m the person who leverages the best of people, builds teams, aligns the final product with vision and values, and balances high quality production with efficiency.

Family

The number one value I hold is this: family always comes first. I want to work in a competitive professional environment to be a provider for my sisters and dad, and my future family in the Bay Area.

Creativity

I hope to break into the creative side of industry. I find a lot of reward in completing design projects, or collaborating with creative people to produce a final product. I love to help make things look and feel beautiful. While companies in the Bay Area have plenty of smart minds that can perfect their engineering or business, unless their product or service lands in the hearts of audiences, it won’t be used. There is an equal need for creative minds to align vision with consumers, and help products appear beautiful and useful. I hope to use my eye for good design, and develop my taste and style in an entry level job in e-commerce, user experience design, or online merchandising.

Leadership

I have always naturally leaned toward leadership. I have developed those skills in a rigorous leadership development program in college, and my experience as a middle school science teacher. While I have a strong leadership style, now is actually the time to practice followership. I want to listen and learn from the best mentors in the creative side of industry, and to collaborate on teams of creative people. I hope to start at the bottom of the ladder, work hard, learn fast, and move up in leadership when the time is right. Don’t worry! The leadership will come with time.

Community

No one exists in a vacuum. Environments thrive off of healthy communities. Collaborating, especially in creative environments, is a necessity. My experiences have forged me into a strong and energetic collaborator who is easy to coach, takes initiative, and can articulate clearly with co-workers and leaders alike.
